Man Utd star’s agent confirms transfer exit stance after receiving ‘many offers’| All Football

The agent of Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has confirmed that they have received ‘many offers’ to leave the Red Devils – but he wants to stay.

Bayindir, 26, joined United from Turkish giants Fenerbahce last summer and has played just four times in the 18 months since. The Turkey international’s most recent appearance and biggest game to date was away to Tottenham in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup last month.

Unfortunately for Bayindir, it was a horror show. The 26-year-old failed to impress, conceding four goals including one straight from a corner.

His performance appears to have confirmed manager Ruben Amorim’s plans to sign a new goalkeeper in 2025, one who can push current number 1 Andre Onana and seriously compete for the gloves, according to the MEN.

Following that report, Bayindir’s agent, Sefa Seyrek, has spoken about his client’s future to Sports Digitale. “Altay had offers from many European clubs last summer,” explained Seyrek. “At the moment there are clubs that are interested, but Altay wants to stay and play in Manchester. The club definitely does not want to lose Altay.”

His comments suggest there will be no movement in United’s goalkeeping department until the summer, when Bayindir has two years left on his contract. Goalkeeper Tom Heaton’s contract expires in June while Onana, who United paid £47m to sign from Inter Milan in 2023, is under contract for another three-and-a-half years.

Amorim defended Bayindir following his erratic performance in United’s horrific 4-3 defeat at Tottenham, after being asked if the former Fenerbahce star had apologized to his teammates in the dressing room. “No, he doesn’t have to,” said the United boss, who reinstated Onana for the next Premier League game.

“He has to be focused. We’ll see the game, and we’ll improve every player in this team. We win together, we lose together. It’s not the individual it’s the team.”

With the Red Devils’ season looming, Amorim is already planning ahead for his first full campaign in charge next season; confirmed on Friday that United had triggered the one-year extension clause in Harry Maguire’s contract. Meanwhile, breakthrough star Amad is ‘close’ to signing a new long-term contract. Both players’ original contracts were due to expire in June.
