Harlequins got off to a winning start in 2025 with a 31-14 bonus-point win over Gallagher Premiership bottom side Newcastle Falcons.
James Chisholm, Marcus Smith, Jack Walker, Oscar Bird and Sam Reilly all crossed in a commanding victory for Danny Wilson’s side at Kingston Park.
The visitors quickly established their command of proceedings, and struck first from a lineout with Chisholm bulldozing to the line.
With substitute Irne Herbst ruled out, Newcastle capitalized on their numerical advantage as Adam Radwan equalised, but Smith restored Harlequins’ lead before the break.
The home side reduced the deficit to just three points with 13 minutes remaining, Ben Redshaw chasing down Ben Stevenson’s clever punt and touching down.
However, it proved to be a mistake for Newcastle as the visitors went over three times in the final eight minutes – through Walker, Bird and Reilly to add gloss to the scoreline.
