Arteta concedes January transfer ‘dream’ six striker goals in ’20 goal’ message

“It could be a thought, it could be a reality,” Arteta said when asked if Arsenal needed to sign the forward in January.

“It’s not enough to sign someone, that’s for sure because how many goals do you have to score after that signing? A lot of things have to happen. Sign and then I’ll score 20 goals from here to the end and then you’ve got better. Chance? Maybe, I don’t know!

But I am very happy with the players we have. If you look at the amount of goals we’ve scored, it’s enough to win the Premier League, and our second place as well. But the fact is, if someone is doing more, that’s life, so we have to be better.

“The market is a lot more limited than in the summer, but I don’t know. People’s expectations and dreams are a little better.

“The focus is on the players we have. When something is on the market that we can afford and believe will have a real impact on the team, we should be open to that possibility.

“We have the ability to change the squad in the windows, but at the moment the focus is on what we have.”
