Barkley has always been an elite level running back, but the former New York Now in Philadelphia, the Giants star has taken his game to a historic level.

Something Giants owner Mara feared when Barkley was in free agency.

Now Barkley is trolling what appears to be Mara and all of New York.

Remember the now infamous clip about how Barkley would react if he decided to part ways with a rival?

“If Saccone goes to Philadelphia, I’m going to have a hard time sleeping, I’ll tell you that,” Mara told general manager Joe Schoen.

“He is the most popular player we have.”

The two-time Pro Bowler signed with Philadelphia in free agency and has been on a historic streak ever since.

Now the returning star is having a little fun at our expense.

In a new ad, Barclays advises those who “have trouble sleeping” by promoting Unisom, a sleeping pill.

“I hear you guys have been having trouble sleeping lately,” Barkley said.

“We have a big game, you should rest. Maybe try Unisom.

“I don’t need it, but you might. I sleep like a baby.”

Barkley even offered a lullaby of his own.

“Stay awake in your bed, my dear Ruckby, because the thought of 2,000 is going through your head. It sure is hard to lose sleep over football. Not for me, though. Good night, everyone.”

A not-so-subtle jab at Mara, who after Barkley’s season, may not be sleeping for the foreseeable future.

Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards and totaled 15 touchdowns in his first year in Philadelphia.

Only eight other players in NFL history have ever rushed for more than 2,000 yards.

Barkley did it in 16 games, just 100 yards short of Eric Dickerson’s record of 2,105.

The Eagles had already announced they would rest their starters against the Giants in their final regular-season game before the playoffs, meaning Barkley will come up short in his pursuit of the all-time single-season rushing record.

Mara will have to count his lucky stars that Barkley is sitting out, as there is a good chance he will break the record against his former team if he does play.

And if that happened, Mara would probably never be able to sleep again.
