Daniel Cormier has unsurprisingly named Anthony Johnson as one of the toughest opponents he has fought during his storied career.

Cormier is one of the few fighters who can claim to have achieved dual championship status UFC.

Cormier won UFC gold for the first time against Johnson after recovering from a devastating right hand that sent him flying.

Johnson floored the 17-year-old Cormier in the first 30 seconds of their five-round fight with a brutal overhand that sent “DC” reeling to his feet at UFC 187 in May 2015.

Cormier turned the fight around in the later rounds, controlling Johnson on the ground and eventually forcing him to submit to a rear-naked choke.

He went on to defend the belt against Gustafsson before defeating Silva and Johnson again in their 2017 rematch at UFC 210.

“DC” was then knocked down by Jones and won his last three UFC bouts, which ended with a loss to Miocic.

Johnson was one of the deadliest fighters in the UFC and beat people like him Dan Hardy And Glover Teixeira between his two fights with Cormier.
