Luiz praised by Villa sporting director with Man City move on the cards this January

Manchester City are considering a loan move for former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

The Brazilian is hot property this winter after a poor start to life in Serie A.

The 26-year-old only moved to Juve in the summer of Aston Villa For big money.

But he managed nine Serie A appearances in the first half of the season, which led to Juve being ready to cash in on him.

Italian outlet Gazette Delo Sport Say Juve are ready to move on from Luizwith City Primed to make a move.

“He is playing less than we all expected, but we are talking about a strong player,” Villa sports director Monchi said of Luiz to Gazzetta recently.

“There are guys who come and dress up, others who need time. Patience is needed, but Douglas’ qualities are beyond discussion. He will become important for Juve.

“He is a playmaker and every ball that comes out of his feet has a meaning: last year he played 90% of the games with us. He was decisive.”
