“Most people see obstacles, but few see opportunities,” he wrote. “Recovery has begun and I am coming back stronger! Thank you all for your messages.”

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been handed a welcome fitness boost over Raheem Sterling, who is expected to return sooner than expected.

Ahead of the match with Ipswich, Arteta said the 30-year-old Chelsea loanee would be out for “weeks” with a knee injury.

However, the problem is not as bad as first feared and Sterling may be available for selection again soon.

“Yes, we have to see how it develops this week,” Arteta added. “Probably he is expected to take the knee injury longer than it is developing these days. I hope it’s good news because he needs it.”

Arsenal, who are six points behind leaders Liverpool in the table, are then in action in the New Year when they visit Brentford.
