Michael Owen has named four Liverpool standouts in his Premier League team of the season so far, including two Chelsea stars.
It’s hardly a surprise that Owen’s team dominates. Liverpool Arne Slott’s side have comfortably been the best team in the Premier League this season.
Several of Liverpool’s top stars underperformed in Jurgen Klopp’s farewell season, but have returned to form since Slott’s arrival as the Dutchman has breathed new life into his squad.
Liverpool’s three best assets – Mo is wrong.Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk – are Among the 20 best footballers who could become free agents this summer. And they’re joined by Ryan Gravenberch, who has been a revelation since switching to No. 6.
Liverpool have an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League, while Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have emerged as a surprise potential title contender.
Chelsea are ahead of schedule under Mariska, who is proving to be an excellent coach as he gets more out of his big squad than his predecessors.
Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo have been Chelsea’s best players this season and have been included in Owen’s XI. Their full team is as follows:
Jordan Pickford (Everton); Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), William Lantasa (Arsenal), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Antony Robinson (Fulham); Moises Caicedo (Chelsea), Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool); Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Mathis Cunha (Wolves); Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest).

Owen has also selected his Premier League mid-season award winners. Unsurprisingly, Salah is their Player of the Year and Slott their Manager of the Year.
He has singled out Nottingham Forest as his surprise of the season and Imad Diallo’s moment of the season during last month’s Manchester derby against Man City.
Owen has also given Aston Villa some love, with John Doran’s strike against Everton for his goal of the season and Emiliano Martinez’s brilliant stop for his save of the season against Nottingham Forest.
Back to Liverpool, Owen has given his thoughts on Real Madrid’s move to sign Alexander-Arnold in January.
He said: “The fact that Real Madrid have now made their intentions clear in terms of signing Trent Alexander-Arnold leads me to believe that it is only a matter of time before they sign him. It’s a matter.
“If he was going to sign a contract extension, Madrid would not have officially made their move. There would be secret negotiations. Big news.”
